The Smith Hotel

The hotel is an architectural beauty. The suites are spacious and well distributed. It feels like an Airbnb but well groomed and super clean. The only issue is that the bathroom is on the ground and the rooms are on two different levels. I found that a bit uncomfortable. The common areas are clean and well illuminated. During the day we had a question and texted them, the reply was fast. Check in process is simple and contactless. Check out did not work that way and we were told to leave the key inside the room. Negatives: the washing machine for the hotel is next to suite 1...don't book that suite...the noise of the machine woke us up at 7 am on Monday. It was a holiday for us and we were hoping to sleep late. The other negative is the location. Not super close to downtown and there is a shelter close to it with people walking around close to it.

We stayed in the loft for two nights. I was traveling with my wife and my grown son. The two bedrooms worked out perfectly for us. Great location and great immediate customer response. I highly recommend the Smith hotel Kingston. If you need to separate Bedrooms it is the best deal in town.

We travelled to Kingston for a weekend away and had a fantastic stay at The Smith Hotel. We were delighted with all the small touches - an essential oil diffuser running as we checked in, making the room smell amazing. The soft lighting and unique decor choices. We loved the record player too! Bed was comfortable and the bedding and pillows felt luxurious. The service was on point, with help being a quick text away and usually an answer back almost immediately. The location was perfect with restaurants and shops a short walk away - although we didn't pick the greatest weekend for it with there being an ice storm, we still had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Fabulous loft boutique rooms! Beautifully appointed, comfy bed, fun records/vinyl to listen to on the turntable. Easy walking distance to downtown restaurants and shopping. Very quick to reply to text messages. We purchased the local artist record/vinyl and were not disappointed-great to add to our collection. Highly recommend if you are staying in Kingston!

The Smith Hotel is a wonderful, unique place to stay and it’s so clean, which is important to my wife and me. The loft suite we stayed in was beautifully appointed, beds comfortable with lovely linens, a fully functioning kitchen should one wish to cook was available, and the soaps/lotions/ hair products top notch. We lacked for nothing and were well taken care of. Would definitely return.

I had a great couple of nights at The Smith while I was in Kingston for some training. The room was so nice, clean and very comfortable. Loved the bathroom, kitchenette and TV area (surprisingly comfy couch). The Smith was a quick walk to the waterfront and all the cute shops and restaurants of downtown Kingston. I would absolutely stay here again and I'm now curious to try out their sister hotel as well :)

This place is just amazing! Even better than on photos. It was a way bigger space than what we were expected, as pictures tend to display rooms larger than they are in reality. Your one street from Princess St. which is the commercial street that goes down to the harbour. Everything you need is within 2-10 minute walk. We never used our car during the stay. One other advantage is the quality of kitchen items, glasses and silverware. You really feel at home and there’s everything to make your own cocktails. They even have giant ice cubes in the freezer, which we found amazing/surprising! If we go back to Kingston, this will be our go to accommodation.
